Using footage from our last visit to Kenya, we created a short video featuring our collaboration with Mercy Children Centre in assisting children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Due to the resounding interest, we have posted the video online.

Scona Composite High School Helping to Build Educational Communities in Kenya
On November 7th, Scona High launched its 'Spread the Word' Campaign. The impressive 6-week-long campaign — led by students — helped raise funds towards building and strengthening educational communities in poverty-stricken areas of rural Kenya.

Projects
The Kenya government has declared HIV/AIDS a national disaster. The rate of HIV infection has increased to 8.5% of the population in the past year. Life span for the average Kenyan is now 45 years, leaving over 1 million children orphaned by AIDS. We are currently working with
Mercy Children's Centre, an organization that provides basic needs and education for children in the rural community of Bumala who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
