One Child's Village is a not-for-profit Foundation incorporated in Alberta, Canada since November 2005 and a Charitable Non-Governmental Organization since July 2006.

We are a grassroots organization whose establishment and growth relies on financial contributions from donors. No members of One Child's Village are remunerated for their involvement. Therefore, apart from a small amount of money set aside for operating fees and other administrative costs, we ensure that as close as 100% of the funds as possible go directly to projects to fulfill the orphans' needs.

Our priority is to assist HIV/AIDS orphans of the Mercy Children's Centre. The Mercy Centre supports over 440 orphaned children through their two schools in Kenya: one in the Kawangware slum of Nairobi, the other in the rural village called Bumala in the Western Province. We have several projects in progress and programs under development at this time. We endorse a wholistic approach, simultaneously assisting with immediate and long-term needs of the children. We do not automatically issue tax receipts for donations under $10, however we will gladly do so upon request. Tax receipts to each donor will be forwarded no later than February of the following calendar year, and in most cases will be forwarded shortly after the donation is received.
