With your help, we wish to continue to support the children’s immediate needs while also contributing to the school's self-sustainability amidst growing global economic challenges. By attending the fundraiser you could:
- Help with health care: We are learning more and more about the vulnerabilities that orphaned children living in severe poverty are susceptible to. We've witnessed parasitic and fungal infections, malaria, rheumatic heart disease, skin necrosis, jiggers—all of which can be prevented through early detection and access to health care. We need to upkeep our basic medical supplies and support the nurse who oversees the 350 students in Bumala. Cost: $100/month.
- Help sponsor a student: Our students are graduating! Several students at the Mercy Centre school of Kawangware are moving on to high school this year due to their hard work and passing their national exam. We are very proud of them. However, unlike primary schooling, tuition is required for secondary school. This means that, for many of our students, moving on to the next step in their education is not possible. Support a student's right to education. Cost: $50/month.

- Help support the school lunch program: Food has become a greater priority as inflation continues to put this basic necessity out of reach for many poverty-stricken families. Cost: $50/day for 164 children.

- Help support the teachers: There is now a total of 17 teachers at both Kawangware and Bumala schools who work on a small salary. Cost: $50/teacher/month.

- Help us build our volunteer program in Kenya:

Our volunteer program is in its preliminary stages. It fits wonderfully with our long-term vision of self-sustainability for the school and our goal of education through cultural exchange with communities of developing nations. Although in its preliminary stages, we have the support of the Bumala community to collaboratively move forward with the program. |
