Beatrice Project I

On June 25, 2008 One Child's Village, in association with Mercy Children's Center, initiated the first phase of the Beatrice Project in Bumala, Kenya. With the principle directors of both organisations – Todd Lorentz (One Child's Village) and Charles Ouma Oduor (Mercy Children's Center) – a funding seed of $200 USD (10,000 Kenyan Shillings) was distributed to 10 grandmothers who are the guardians of HIV/AIDS orphans attending the Mercy Children's Center school. This video documentary chronicles the distribution of these funds (1,000 Ksh to each grandmother) and the enormous impact that this has had on the lives of these special women.
