School Construction

With the generosity of donors from our first annual fundraiser in March 2007, One Child's Village was able to build a school in the poverty-stricken village of Bumala. We were motivated by this project knowing that the new building would liberate significant funds that Mercy Centre had to spend on rent at the former school's location.

Mercy Children's Centre was able to use the freed-up rent money towards a nutritional lunch program for the 90 students attending the school at that time. This step was particularly significant since many of the children often receive their only meal of the day through the school.
