OUR VALUES

We recognize the essential Oneness of all humanity and understand Love, Compassion and Brotherhood to be the natural spiritual expression and inheritance for the human being. We recognize the inherent right of all human beings to live a dignified life, in safety and security, and that this can only occur where Liberty, Justice and Cooperation prevail. We recognize that in a world of plenty, the suffering of one human being is shameful and that the death and suffering of millions due to hunger, poverty and preventable diseases represents a failure by humanity to manifest its Divine nature. This tragedy compels us to act on behalf of our fellowman to work toward bringing about the conditions conducive to a dignified human existence for all. We recognize that in taking up this work we provide both ourselves and others with the opportunity to expresses Love for our fellowman and to establish right relationships with people in communities around the world. By doing so we are working to erase the imagined cultural and social divisions that are generated by fear and ignorance.

We particularly identify the children of the world as the most vulnerable members in our global family. Many children today are subject to horrendous conditions and unspeakable exploitation. We reaffirm the inherent right of children to have an adequate education, proper healthcare, adequate food and clothing, a safe environment, and a secure family and community life that would enable them to grow up and contribute to their community and the world in a productive and compassionate way. The world's most precious resource and hope for the future is its children and we support efforts that provide the conditions, training and resources needed to help children grow physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We recognize the need to encourage Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-Violence at a young age and believe that you can teach love to children only through love; compassion only through compassion; cooperation only through cooperativeness; tolerance only through tolerance; and justice only through just actions.

Finally, we believe that service rendered to children is the most sacred.
