Director

Hi!

My name is Troy Farn and here is a little bit about me... I am currently a full-time student (yes, I am old to be a full-time student), pursuing my goal of completing my Masters in Counselling. Prior to being a full-time student, I spent the previous 15 years working as a full-time firefighter with the City of Edmonton. My work with the fire department lead me into a role working in the Mental Health Program. That experience, coupled with my desire to continue my education, is what led me to resigning from the fire department and pursuing my Masters.

I have been on the Board of Directors with One Child's Village since 2015 and it has been a very rewarding experience. My first exposure with One Child's Village came way back in 2009 when I had the privilege of visiting our Kawangware Project in Kenya. While there I was able to see how impactful and important the work of One Child's Village is! My stop at the Kawangware Project was part of a year long travel and volunteering adventure that took me from Central and South America, through East Africa and ending in Nepal. Nepal is one of my favorite places on earth and I am so excited to be part of this amazing organization as we expand into programs in Nepal!
